Important Settings
Enable Data Roaming
After installing your eSIM, you must enable Data Roaming for it to work internationally:
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [Your eSIM] → Data Roaming → ON
- Android: Settings → Network → SIM → [Your eSIM] → Roaming → ON
Set as Primary Data Line
When you arrive at your destination, switch your cellular data to use the BlingSIM eSIM:
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → Select your eSIM
- Android: Settings → SIM Manager → Preferred SIM → Mobile Data → Select your eSIM
Keep Your Original SIM for Calls/SMS
Your BlingSIM plan is data-only. Keep your original SIM active for incoming calls and texts. Use apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime for calls over data.
Troubleshooting
- eSIM not connecting? — Restart your phone, check Data Roaming is ON, and ensure the eSIM is set as your data line.
- QR code not scanning? — Make sure you have good lighting and your camera is focused. Try the manual entry method instead.
- Slow speeds? — Move to an area with better signal. Network speeds depend on local carrier coverage.
- "Cannot Add eSIM" error? — Your phone may have reached its eSIM limit. Try deleting an old eSIM plan first.
